The BW Bielefelder Werkstätten is a classical manufacturer. And that is a deliberate decision. This means that our furniture is produced only by highly qualified craftspeople using traditional knowledge and a loving eye for detail. It requires numerous production steps before our experts have precisely cut the designs, perfectly matched the grain direction and exactly fixed the made-to-measure fabric in place with hundreds of tiny nails. This venerable craft creates fascinating furniture valued by our customers – often for several generations. Our passionate diligence results in furniture that is a sensuous experience: finely modelled forms, well-balanced proportions and precision right down to the smallest detail.

Our company philosophy unites stylish design with the aspiration of creating durable values in finely honed craftsmanship. And to do so only at the high-quality manufacturing location that is Germany. A timeless and classical aesthetic influences our style, which we develop in cooperation with well-known designers. The contemporary interpretation of traditional forms is at the focus of our designs, from which furniture fit to satisfy even the highest standards is crafted in our workshops. As high-quality upholstered furniture alone is not enough to create exquisite living areas, we provide a sophisticated interiors concept with tables, lamps and dining sets to match the BW sofas and armchairs. This allows the emergence of differentiated, harmoniously coordinated living environments.

The textile entrepreneur Heinz Anstoetz founded BW Bielefelder Werkstätten in 1956. Ever since we have crafted top-quality products for discerning furniture lovers here in East Westphalia. The company is part of the globally active JAB ANSTOETZ Group, at the heart of which is the internationally significant fabric editor of the same name. With its numerous companies, active in home textiles and upholstered furniture, the JAB ANSTOETZ Group demonstrates great international competence in the field of interiors and furnishing. Still owner-run today, BW Bielefelder Werkstätten now has about 120 employees, the majority of whom were trained in-house to our own very high standards.
