COMBINAISONS FAITES AVEC ART
Avec « CHARACTERS - The Red Thread Collection » nous présentons une série de huit dessins extraordinaires qui portent tous la signature créative de Staffan Tollgård. Chaque tapis tufté main est une pièce unique au niveau de la combinaison des dessins, couleurs et techniques employés. Les fils sont réalisés à partir de soie et de laine vierge provenant de Nouvelle-Zélande.
Scratched – UNE RÉVÉLATION STRUCTURELLE
SCRATCHED est une véritable révélation quant à la texture. Des empreintes innumérables sillonnent la surface pour s’agencer dans une image globale très esthétique. Les parties « enlevées » révèlent une surface inférieure constituée de guipures et de parties fraisées avec art.
Diamond – UNE RÉVÉLATION INDUSTRIELLE
DIAMOND interprète une matière très élémentaire de façon surprenante. Le métal cannelé avec sa structure caractéristique est reconnu par les initiés. De par sa nature, cette matière n’est pas décorative, mais si on associe des dessins poinçonnés par des machines aux poils de laine, elle révèle la nature artistique des moquettes.
Beneath – UNE RÉVÉLATION ÉNERGIQUE
BENEATH rappelle le fait que notre planète a toujours un noyau liquide. Les maîtres de tapis de chez JAB ANSTOETZ ont réussi avec leur savoir-faire artisanal, à créer un tapis fascinant d’aspect théâtral qui transpose l’énergie concentrée de la lave bouillante dans un tapis.
Drop – UNE RÉVÉLATION DYNAMIQUE
DROP est la preuve que quelques gouttes d’eau peuvent transformer une surface plane en une œuvre d’art. Des techniques de fraisage subtiles rendent perceptible cette métamorphose en imitant le déferlement des vagues qui, ici, approchent de manière concentrique le bord du tapis.
Surface – A FUNDAMENTAL REVELATION
Surface explores the cracking of the earth and the transitory nature of materials when exposed to the elements. The slightly apocalyptic notion is softened by the warm, muted colors and the delicate loop pile that is exposed in the fissures of the rug.
Dissolve – A TARNISHED REVELATION
Dissolve tells a tale of transformation and describes the change of untreated metal over the time. With scientific sense and artistic sensibility, JAB ANSTOETZ has managed to depict the blurring colors of the rusting process.
Splash – AN ACCIDENTAL REVELATION
Splash is about the interaction of color and texture – and the childish delight in playing with paint. The delicately carved edges make the surface tension of the drops tangible in the true sense of the word. The strength of the design’s simple message is underlined by the use of shimmering silk to work out the splatter.
Red Thread – A GUIDING REVELATION
Red Thread is a metaphor made real. Its pattern symbolizes the twists and turns of life’s journey and the encounters made along the way. The vibrant silk yarn works its way across the stage, alternating between gentle motion and dynamic effort.
STAFFAN TOLLGÅRD – THE DESIGNER
"The Scandinavian notion of the ‘red thread’ has been central to my work as an interior designer for over ten years. I have used it as a powerful metaphor to describe the journey towards the creative DNA of every project I have worked on – the heart of the matter that connects interior, architecture and environment," states Tollgård. "With my first collection of rugs I have been able to make the red thread a reality."
